Gurnee Park District T-Ball Leagues introduce players ages 4-5 years old to the basics of the sport, including hitting, throwing, and catching. Teams will practice once per week and play games on Saturdays throughout the season. All players should have their own glove at each practice/game. Baseball spikes are optional and are not required. Participants will receive a team hat and player shirt with registration. Gurnee Park District Lil’ Sluggers League is a great transition from T-Ball to baseball/softball. In this league, players ages 6-7 will not only further develop skills learned in T-Ball play, but will also learn to hit from a coach pitch. A basketball skills class for toddlers ages 2-3. Learn how to dribble, shoot, pass, and play defense in this 4 week program. Along with our skill training, we will play mini games and competitions to have fun while learning the game of basketball. Instructed by the Athletics Coordinator. (CP)

Join 5 Star Sports for an introduction to soccer! Classes will focus on soccer basics and fundamentals through the use of stations and team drills in the first 3 weeks, while the last 2 weeks will put skills learned to the test through soccer matches.

Dribble, shoot, score with 5 Star Sports’ Basketball Beginners! In this introductory class, children ages 4-6 will learn not only basketball fundamentals such as passing, dribbling, and shooting, but also the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork through fun and simple drills. Batter up! With 5 Star Baseball Basics, players will learn basic baseball skills such as fielding, catching, and batting through active drills and game play. Attendees should bring their own glove; all additional equipment will be provided. Contracted through 5 Star Sports. (CP)

This class will feature a new sport each week. Some of the sports taught and played include basketball, floor hockey, football, kickball, soccer and baseball. In addition, participants play many popular running and group games. Children have the opportunity to acquire new skills and develop confidence in games they have played in previous classes. Class will be held outside, next to the Hunt Club Community Center. In case of inclement weather, class will be moved inside of the community center to the gym Contracted through Hot Shots Sports. The Co-Ed Lil Kickers Soccer League is for players 4 and 5 years old. The focus of this league will be on introducing players to the basics of the sport, staying active, and developing important social skills in a team setting. Games will be played 4v4 on age-appropriate fields and without goalies to encourage more touches on the ball and more goals. Gurnee Park District soccer leagues follow USA Soccer standards.
